“On Pins and Needles”

Brief storytelling clip portraying the process of sewing.

“Since I have memory I recall waking up and falling asleep to the soothing sound that sewing machines do. My Mother would spend hours fixing and making clothes for me until late night. I would come to her when in trouble and she would help me with my homework or my problems while sewing. When life got hard she wouldn’t say a thing, but immediately she would sit to sew and cut something to mend the soul and fill the holes that, from time to time, appeared in our lives. Just as sewing has been her profession and her passion, sewing has been there for me as a reminder of my Mother and her talent; and as a metaphor for learning to overcome and fill in the holes in life.”
